Alice & Anna will present an art-science animated film titled "Arctic Shifts" that draws extensively from scientific research on the changing Arctic and incorporates visualizations of the Arctic’s future climate generated using a state-of-the art global climate model. At the same time, “Arctic Shifts” depicts three possible futures about Arctic food webs that currently fall outside the scope of scientific simulations. Courtney will present on work she is doing as part of her ASP postdoctoral work investigating how Arctic phytoplankton blooms are changing due to a warming Arctic within the CESM2. She has found shifts in the timing and magnitude of the phytoplankton bloom and is currently investigating the processes driving these shifts.
