Using climate science for action: lessons from the humanitarian sector

This talk will highlight work by the humanitarian community to develop and scale anticipatory action frameworks, which use forecasts to spur action before shocks. Zinta will discuss how these frameworks are designed, evidence of impacts and also gaps in data and science which make framework design challenging. Zinta will also present preliminary results of a forthcoming report by OCHA on the implications of climate overshoot and highlight next steps, and opportunities researchers in the IPCC AR7 cycle.
